How is it possible that we missed the rapture of the church and the millennium and not know it?

What is the true reality of the world in which we live?  

Popular and contemporary books and movies have asked this question: such as 1984, They Live, The Truman Show and The Matrix.

1) We tend to believe what we have been taught.

This is especially true when it comes from people that we trust, like our parents and teachers. This is reinforced by apparently and seemingly everyone around us is believing and trusting them and repeating the same stories. Those beliefs whether true or not are reinforced repeatedly, thus cementing them into our minds.

Maybe we have been taught to believe that we are waiting on Jesus to return and take us all away (rapture).  Maybe we have been taught to believe that the millennium is only symbolic or spiritual.

2) We no doubt have been taught a false history.

Anyone that is familiar with Christianity has at least heard of the great tribulation, but are clueless about the great deception.  Many times it is extremely difficult to know what is true but it is much easier to be able to identify something that is false or a lie.   I may not be sure of what the truth is but I certainly know what a lie is.

The story that I am supposed to believe is that we are more advanced right now than we ever have been in our entire existence of billions of years from the time we came out of the Slime Pit grew a tail and then became a monkey and then became a human. Of course I don't believe that story.

And when I see huge stone blocks and edifices cut and placed with such precision supposedly by people thousands of years ago that barely even had any metal tools, I say BS. 

And when I am told that just about every state capitol building  in the United States  was built by people  that largely did not even have electricity or any  power tools and no big Earth moving equipment  and that they did everything with horse and cart  and lived in  log cabins that they had to build themselves  just a  few decades prior I think that's a bunch of BS, too. 

The Bible teaches that God created man in his own image and we were created with high intelligence and skills built in. I'm going to stick with that one.
