What is Godstory for the Future?
God created us to live forever, so "forever" is in our future.
When it comes to specifics, all we can do is read the Scriptures (if we believe they are true) and then properly interpret what the Scriptures say.
Universally Accepted by ALL Believers in Jesus Christ
There will be an eternal state for every human being.
Physical death is ONLY what happens when our body stops living. That part of us that makes us uniquely human continues to live on.
The most traditional position of Jesus' followers is every human being will continue to live in a spiritual body in heaven or hell; heaven is with God and hell is NOT with God.

When we try and discover what is in our future, what we believe is shaped by what we instructed to believe about the future as it is REVEALED in the Word of God.
if you have attended church for any amount of time, you probably believe whatever you were taught about the future in the church that you attended. I know that I did. After reading through the Bible and paying specific attention to what Jesus Jesus Christ said about his own return in the New Testament I have a different view now.
Below is what the majority of evangelical Christians in the USA believe is in their future.
- The return of Christ (John 14:1-3)
- The tribulation (Matt. 24:21-22)
- The millennium (Rev. 20:1-7)
- The judgments (Rev. 20:12-15)
- The new heaven and earth (Rev. 21:1-3)

Knowing for certain things that are in the future is very difficult because we have no clear, Biblical narrative. Any other story, coming from either what would be considered secular or even sacred ( church) history, church fathers, or historic or modern Bible commentaries or notes added to Bible translations to me is highly suspect and unreliable.

Okay then, here is what I think ...
Here is how I have formed what I believe: the Word of God or the Holy Bible or the Scriptures are the only absolute authority and I interpret them literally.
1. If you are reading this and you are alive, you will someday be judged for the things that you have done while living in your body on earth in the final judgment.
2. God is going to recreate the earth for the final time and the heavenly Jerusalem is going to be joined to it.
3. Depending upon your relationship with Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, you will be spending eternity in one of two possible places:

On this remade earth with access to the heavenly Jerusalem in union with God. (commonly referred to as heaven)

Inside of this earth, in darkness isolated from God. (commonly referred to as hell)
