Revelation

God's revelation refers to the ways in which God has chosen to disclose Himself, His Word and His will to humanity. This concept is foundational to understanding the nature of God, His purposes, and His interactions with the world. Revelation is generally categorized into two types: general revelation and special revelation.

Revelation is something that happens between God and man. It is God speaking (or revealing something) to a person whether it be through an agent such as an angel or a dream or a vision. Any of these would be considered atype of special revelation from God.

Inspiration

Inspiration (in the sense we mean here) means God is speaking to a person directly. The literal meaning is related to breathing or breath. When we speak air comes out of our mouths. Inspiration is often used commonly to refer to something that is akin to motivation. That is not what is meant when we say the Bible is inspired by God. We mean God told us these things.
