His Priests means we are responsible for the spiritual government of the earth.

In this season followers of the Lord Jesus Christ certainly do not feel welcome or wanted in spiritual government at any level.  But it is our place to be ruling (or reigning) at every level.   There is absolutely zero doubt that the earth would be a far better place if followers of Jesus were ruling all the governments of the world (local, regional and national) as they should. We absolutely belong there, and when we are absent, we experience the reproach along with the rest of society.

Prov. 14:34

[34] Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

Rev. 5:1-14

[1] And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
[2] And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
[3] And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
[4] And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
[5] And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
[6] And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

[10] And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
[11] And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
[12] Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
[13] And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
[14] And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

As Priests in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, we are to be Reining Spiritually.

Priests have always served as mediators between God and men. They have also served in the role of teachers and judges and spiritual advisors, serving God in various ways on behalf of the people.

It is our duty to be serving as spiritual guides among the people and to be managing the people's worship of the one Most High God (Jesus Christ)in a way that pleases Him. As a priest we must mediate between God and men, thus our main role is one of intercession- prayer.

Every Believer in Jesus Christ (Saint) is Called to be a Priest

This priesthood is an individual calling and responsibility. It is not an office in the church. Jesus did not establish a formalized priesthood for his church. The leaders and overseers of the local church would be: apostles, prophets evangelists and pastor-teachers.

Eph. 4:1-12

[1] I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
[2] With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
[3] Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
[4] There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
[5] One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
[6] One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
[7] But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
[8] Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
[9] (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
[10] He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
[11] And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
[12] For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Local assemblies that call themselves Christian churches that have priests that oversee them and to whom confession is made is not Biblical. It is an invention of this little season that we are in that has come about since the release of the devil from the bottomless pit and as a result of the Roman Catholic Church commandeering the previously established Church of Jesus Christ, that were led by evangelists and pastor-teachers -- NEVER PRIESTS!

  • served the church until the completion of the New Testament Scriptures
• Evangelsts & Pastor-teachers
  • are current and continuing New Testament church offices
  • an evangelist is primarily a church starting pioneer or "church planter" and are often involved in training local church pastors, and may oversee many churches. Sometimes churches refer to them as missionaries.

  • pastors[and teachers] (which means shepherds) are also often referred to as bishops or elders.  They minister to a single, local assembly.

1 Cor. 13:9-12

[9] For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
[10] But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
[11] When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
[12] For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Eph. 2:10-22

[10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
[11] Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
[12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
[13] But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
[15] Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
[16] And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
[17] And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
[18] For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
[20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
[21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
[22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

A Babylonian Perversion

What has been rewritten as history in this season ascribes a perverted Babylonian religion calling it The Holy Roman Empire, while laying claim to the millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ that was ruled by Him. -- not by some man called a Pope.

Search the Scriptures to try to find that hierarchy. It does not exist.

As Priests we do Offer Sacrifices, but they are Spiritual

The Old Covenant animal sacrifice system was finished by the once for all offering of Jesus Christ the perfect Lamb of God in Son of God.  

We are not called to be priests in the perverted, Roman Catholic sense, and we are not called to be priests in the Old Covenant sense. We are priests of the New Covenant, and Jesus Christ Himself is our great high priest. We serve under Him!

There is no more sacrifice for sins, so we don't confess our sins before an animal is killed and our sins are symbolically transferred to it. The Lamb of God has forever taken our sins away!  H e did not just cover them; He removed them by taking them upon Himself.   It was not symbolic.  It was reality.

Heb. 10:1-12

[1] For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
[2] For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
[3] But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
[4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
[5] Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
[6] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
[7] Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
[8] Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
[9] Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
[10] By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
[11] And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
[12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

The sacrifices that we offer include: offering praise to God, doing good things for people, and sharing with others.

Heb. 13:10-16

[10] We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
[11] For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
[12] Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
[13] Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
[14] For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
[15] By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
[16] But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

The Believers Confessionnal

New Testament Believers were never instructed to confess their sins to the apostles or prophets or evangelists or pastor-teachers. And as mentioned previously, there was no office of priest for the New Testament Church.

We confess our sins directly to the Great High Priest, and we may confess them to one another in the church and request prayer for healing.

Heb 4:13-16

[13] Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
[14] Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
[15] For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
[16] Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

James 5:13-16

[13] Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
[14] Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
[15] And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
[16] Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Old Testament Priesthood

The priesthood was established by God through Moses, with Aaron and his descendants appointed as the first priests (Exodus 28:1). The tribe of Levi was set apart for priestly duties, and within this tribe, the family of Aaron was designated for the high priesthood. The primary role of the priests was to serve in the Tabernacle, and later in the Temple, where they conducted sacrifices, offerings, and other rituals as prescribed by the Law.

1. Sacrificial Duties: Priests were responsible for offering sacrifices on behalf of the people. These included burnt offerings, sin offerings, and peace offerings, among others. Leviticus 1-7 provides detailed instructions on how these sacrifices were to be conducted. The priests acted as intermediaries, presenting the people's offerings to God and seeking atonement for their sins.

2. Teaching the Law: Priests were also tasked with teaching the Israelites the statutes and commandments of God. As stated in Leviticus 10:11, "You must teach the Israelites all the statutes that the LORD has given them through Moses." They were custodians of the Law, ensuring that the people understood and adhered to God's commands.

3. Maintaining Ritual Purity: The priests were charged with maintaining the ritual purity of the sanctuary and the people. This involved overseeing purification rites and diagnosing and treating cases of leprosy and other impurities (Leviticus 13-14).

4. Festivals and Holy Days: Priests played a central role in the observance of religious festivals and holy days, such as Passover, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. They led the community in worship and ensured that the celebrations were conducted according to divine instructions.

5. Judicial Functions: In some cases, priests served as judges, particularly in matters related to religious law and disputes (Deuteronomy 17:8-12). They were seen as authorities on the Law and were consulted for their wisdom and guidance.

New Testament Priesthood

In the New Testament, the concept of priesthood undergoes a significant transformation with the advent of Jesus Christ, who is described as the ultimate High Priest. The Epistle to the Hebrews elaborates on this, stating, "But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made by hands, that is, not of this creation" (Hebrews 9:11).

1. Christ as High Priest: Jesus is portrayed as the fulfillment of the Old Testament priesthood, offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sin. His priesthood is eternal and unchanging, as He "always lives to intercede for them" (Hebrews 7:25).

2. The Priesthood of All Believers: With Christ's sacrifice, the New Testament introduces the concept of the priesthood of all believers. 1 Peter 2:9 states, "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." This signifies that all Christians have direct access to God and are called to serve Him in various capacities.

3. Role in the Early Church: While the New Testament does not establish a formal priesthood akin to the Old Testament, it does recognize roles of leadership and service within the church, such as elders and deacons, who are tasked with shepherding the flock and teaching the Word (1 Timothy 3:1-13).

The role of the priests, both in the Old and New Testaments, underscores the importance of mediation, sacrifice, and teaching in the relationship between God and His people. Through the priesthood, God provided a means for His people to approach Him, understand His will, and live in accordance with His commands.
