Illumination

When things are dark we light a lamp or a candle or we turn on a light. This enables us to see things more clearly. it is God (His Holy Spirit) that illuminates us so we can understand the scriptures.  

The Bible is a spiritual book. It cannot be properly understood apart from the Holy Spirit's help.
